Extract a table from a password-protected bank statement PDF

Type the PDF's password into Satr when it asks, and the statement is opened and read on your device, so the password and the file are never sent anywhere. Satr cannot guess or remove a password you do not have.

Why many converters struggle with these files

Many banks encrypt statement PDFs with a password. Table-extraction libraries and online converters either fail on them or ask you to upload the locked file together with its password to a server. With Satr the decryption happens inside your browser tab.

What happens to the password

The password is used by pdf.js on your device to open the file and is not stored or transmitted. Closing the tab clears it.

If it will not open

Check that you typed the password exactly as your bank gave it, including capital letters. If you never received it, ask your bank; Satr cannot recover or bypass it. Some banks let you download an unprotected copy from online banking.

Limits

Satr works with text PDFs downloaded from internet or mobile banking. It does not read scans or photos (no OCR), it uses a generic parser with no per-bank templates so you may need to set the column types yourself, and it is not affiliated with any bank. Check the result against your original statement before you use it.

Questions

Does Satr upload the password?

No. It is used locally by pdf.js to open the file and is not sent to any server.

Can Satr remove or guess a statement password?

No. You must enter the correct password yourself.

What if the PDF opens in my viewer without a password?

Then it is not password-protected, and Satr opens it directly.

Does it work offline?

After the page has loaded, the conversion works offline. Only the payment check needs the network.
