Why not uploading matters
A bank statement shows balances, counterparties and payment references. Sending it to a third-party server means trusting how it is stored and for how long. Satr avoids the question: the PDF is read on your device by pdf.js and is never uploaded.
You do not have to take this on trust. The how-it-works page shows how to open the Network tab and confirm that no request carries your PDF.
How other converters handle the file
| Approach | Examples | What it means for your statement |
|---|---|---|
| Browser-local | Satr; also claimed by StatementSheet and WaveSpeed | The PDF is read on your device; there is nothing to delete on a server afterwards |
| Upload to a web service | DocuClipper, YourBankStatementConverter, BankStatementConverter.com, Parseur | The file leaves your device; how long it is kept depends on the vendor's policy (YourBankStatementConverter states 24 hours, others do not say) |
| Desktop install | AlchemForge Offline ($129 one-time, Windows, OCR) | Stays local, but you install software and are tied to one operating system |
| Manual copy in Excel | Excel's own PDF import, or copy and paste | No third party at all, but slow, and merged cells and wrapped descriptions usually break the table |
Vendor details were read from their own pages on 1 November 2026; see the comparison page for links and prices.
What the site does send
Satr does make some network calls. It loads its own files, and for payment it sends an order id, the chosen plan and, for the single-file plan, the file's SHA-256 fingerprint. It also sends anonymous counter events with only an event name and the interface language. No file content, file names or statement amounts are sent. The privacy page lists every call.
Where the alternatives are better
- Desktop tools run with no browser and no internet at all, and some of them, such as AlchemForge Offline, include OCR for scanned statements.
- Upload services can accept scans and phone photos, which Satr cannot, and usually offer support when a layout fails.
- Excel's own import needs no new tool, no payment and no third-party page at all, and is enough for a short, simple statement.
- StatementSheet charges $19 for up to 12 statements, which is cheaper per file than Satr if you have a full batch.
Where Satr is better
- Nothing is uploaded and no account is created; the whole file is parsed on your device and you can watch the Network tab to confirm it.
- The first 15 rows are free and downloadable, so the privacy choice does not cost you a blind payment: the export is 3 USDT per file or 12 USDT for 30 days.
- Thirteen interface languages, with right-to-left support for Arabic, Persian and Urdu, and number handling for 1.234,56 and 1,234.56.
- The extractor, the XLSX writer and the CSV writer are served unminified, so the parsing can be read rather than trusted.
Limits
Satr works with text PDFs from internet or mobile banking. Scans and photos are not supported, and there is no OCR. Check the output against the original before importing or filing it.

Questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read on your device by pdf.js and is never uploaded. You can verify it yourself in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools (F12).
Can I use it offline?
After the page has loaded, the conversion itself works offline. The payment check needs a network connection.
Does it work with scanned statements or photos?
No. Satr works with text PDFs downloaded from internet or mobile banking. Scanned paper statements and photos (image-only PDFs) are not supported, and there is no OCR.
What about password-protected PDFs?
You type the password yourself. It is used on your device only, to open the file.
What is free?
The preview. The whole file is processed locally, the first 15 transaction rows are shown in full along with the total row and page count, and those 15 rows can be downloaded free as CSV and XLSX.
Are amounts exported as real numbers?
Yes. In the XLSX file, amounts are real numbers, so sums and filters work straight away.
