A DocuClipper alternative for one-off statements

DocuClipper is built for people who process statements every month. If you have one PDF and would rather not put it on someone's server, both the maths and the privacy model change.

What DocuClipper is good at

DocuClipper is the most complete tool in this comparison. Its page states OCR for native and scanned statements with a balance check and a 99.9% field-accuracy claim, and it exports XLSX, CSV, QBO, IIF, OFX, QFX and QIF into QuickBooks or Xero. It also states SOC 2 Type II and offers to add an unsupported statement layout within 48 hours.

For an accountant with a queue of client statements, that combination (scans, accounting formats, an audit report, a support path) is worth more than a lower price per file.

What it costs

The published plans are $20.30 a month for 60 pages, $111.30 for 640 pages and $279.30 for 1,800 pages, with 30% off on annual billing; the trial is 14 days and 120 pages with no card. For a single statement, that means paying for a plan you may not open again.

The comparison is not really DocuClipper against Satr. It is a monthly accounting workflow against a one-file job.

Where DocuClipper is better

  • Scanned statements and phone photos: OCR is the one thing Satr explicitly does not do.
  • Accounting exports: QBO, OFX, QFX, IIF and QIF files save a mapping step that Satr leaves to you in QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Compliance paperwork: a stated SOC 2 Type II report is easier to show a client or an employer than a promise.
  • Scale and support: page tiers up to 1,800 a month and a stated 48-hour path for a layout it does not know.
  • Batch review: one dashboard for many statements instead of one file at a time in a browser tab.

Where Satr is better

  • Nothing is uploaded. The PDF is parsed on your device with pdf.js, and the strict Content-Security-Policy on the site allows no connection to any other host.
  • The price is per file, not per month: 3 USDT once, or 12 USDT if you have several files within 30 days. No renewal follows.
  • No account, no email and no card, so there is no company to unsubscribe from.
  • The preview processes the entire statement and shows the first 15 transactions with the total row and page count; those rows download free.
  • Thirteen interface languages, including right-to-left Arabic, Persian and Urdu, and automatic number-format detection for 1.234,56 and 1,234.56.
  • The parser is served unminified and readable, so a technical reviewer can see what happens to the file.

Which one fits

  • A bookkeeper or accountant processing client statements every month: DocuClipper, and the OCR alone justifies it.
  • Anyone with a scan or a phone photo: DocuClipper or a desktop OCR tool; Satr will refuse the file honestly instead of returning rubbish.
  • One text PDF, a private document, and no wish to create an account: Satr at 3 USDT.
  • A developer who wants to check the parsing logic: Satr's extractor is readable JavaScript.

Questions

Is there a free DocuClipper alternative?

WaveSpeed is free with no stated page limit, and Satr's preview is free, though its full export costs 3 USDT per file. Neither states OCR support, which is what DocuClipper is mainly paid for.

Does Satr read scanned statements?

No. Satr works with text PDFs from internet or mobile banking. Scanned paper statements and photos are not supported, and there is no OCR.

Can Satr export straight to QuickBooks or Xero?

Not directly. Satr produces XLSX and CSV, and you map the CSV inside QuickBooks' or Xero's import screen. There is no official integration. DocuClipper produces QBO, OFX and QFX files itself.

How much does DocuClipper cost for one statement?

The smallest published plan is $20.30 a month for 60 pages, with 30% off on annual billing, as listed on 1 November 2026. There is a 14-day, 120-page trial without a card.

Is my statement uploaded when I use Satr?

No. The PDF is read in your browser and never uploaded. You can check this yourself in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools.
